Marine Ecology Surveys
Do you need an ecology report for a planning permission for a new jetty, slipway or pier? Maybe you need to complete seawall/coastal pathway repairs, or maybe you need a shoreline management plan?
At Western Ecology we have over 19 years of professional experience gained in both marine and terrestrial habitats, at times working for both UK and International government bodies. We can provide linked-up surveys considering both terrestrial and marine habitats for your project. No need for two teams of surveys. No need for double the costs.
What is a Marine Ecology Report?
Your report will identify features of conservation importance that could constitute a constraint to the proposals for a site. Where appropriate, recommendations for impact avoidance, mitigation and post-development enhancement are made to ensure compliance with wildlife legislation and relevant planning policy.
What else do I need to know?
These surveys will be prepared in accordance with the ‘Guidelines for Preliminary Ecological Appraisal’ produced by the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management.
We can also provide Marine Habitat Classification (biotope mapping) with GIS (Geographical Information System) outputs.
In the last 12 months we have completed jetty, slipway and seawall/coastal pathway repair projects along the estuaries and coastline of the South West.
Our Commitment to you
To show how committed we are to providing you with a high quality service, we have adopted BS 42020:2013 Biodiversity – Code of practice for planning and development for all of our Marine Habitat Surveys. Furthermore, our ecologists are full members of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (MCIEEM) and bound by their Professional Code of Conduct.
